Data Deletion Request

Last updated: 14 June 2026 · This page explains how to ask us to delete your personal data, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Amendment 2024) and the data-deletion requirements of Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok.

1. Who this is for

This page is for anyone whose personal data we may hold, including:

  • Customers who rented a scooter or made a booking with us.
  • Enquirers who contacted us by WhatsApp, email, or our booking form.
  • Social media users who interacted with our Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok accounts, or clicked an ad that brought you to this site.

2. How to request deletion

Use either button above, or contact our Data Protection Officer directly:

To help us find and verify your records, please include the name and phone number or email you used when booking. If your request relates to a social media interaction, include your handle / username on that platform.

3. What happens next

  1. We acknowledge your request within 3 working days.
  2. We verify your identity (to protect your data from unauthorised deletion requests).
  3. We delete your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
  4. We send you a written confirmation once deletion is complete.

4. What we delete

On a verified request we remove, where applicable:

  • Your contact details (name, phone, email, WhatsApp).
  • Identity documents you uploaded (IC / passport scans).
  • Pickup / return photos and digital signature tied to your rental.
  • Marketing / enquiry messages and any social-platform interaction data we received.

5. What we may have to keep

Malaysian law requires us to retain certain transaction records (for example, rental invoices and payment records) for up to 7 years for tax and dispute-resolution purposes under the Income Tax Act 1967 and related regulations. Where we must keep a record, we delete everything not legally required and anonymise the rest so it can no longer identify you. These records are securely destroyed once the retention period ends.

6. Data held by social platforms

Deleting your data from BitScoot does not automatically delete data held by Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok themselves. To remove data those platforms hold about you, please also use their own tools:
